I’ve always been driven by a deep curiosity for the forgotten corners of history. What started as a passion for photography and storytelling grew into Exploring History—a way to uncover the mysteries of the past and share them with the world.
As the host of the Exploring History YouTube channel, I take viewers along as I investigate historic sites, forgotten cemeteries, old legends, and overlooked stories. Each episode blends research, on-the-ground exploration, and conversations with historians, authors, museums, and even everyday people who hold pieces of the past.
Currently based in Birmingham, Alabama, I’m dedicated to bringing these stories to life in a way that’s engaging, respectful, and sometimes even a little unexpected. My goal is simple: to make history feel alive again, one story at a time.
Of course, Exploring History isn’t just me—it’s a team effort. Behind every episode is a group of collaborators and partners who bring their unique skills and knowledge to the table, helping us piece together the stories that history almost forgot.
Terri – Historian & Research Partner
Terri is the heart of our historical research at Exploring History. With a strong background in history and as an active member of the Alabama Cemetery Preservation Alliance, she brings both expertise and passion to the team.
Her work goes beyond research—Terri helps us build connections with other historians, preserves valuable records, and makes sure every story we tell is accurate and respectful. From forgotten cemeteries to overlooked archives, she plays a vital role in uncovering the details that bring each episode to life.
Alan – Cameraman & Creative Partner
Alan is the man behind the lens who makes Exploring History come alive. From framing the perfect shot to making sure every word of audio is captured, he keeps the technical side running flawlessly so the stories can shine.
More than just a cameraman, Alan brings creativity, humor, and a sharp eye for detail to each shoot. Whether we’re filming in a quiet archive or out at a forgotten cemetery, he’s there to capture the moment and make sure nothing gets lost.
Denise – Production & Story Coordinator
Denise is the steady hand that keeps each episode on track. From shaping outlines to ensuring that the final edit meets our standards, she makes sure the story we tell is clear, accurate, and engaging.
Behind the scenes, Denise often steps in on location—helping direct, assist with filming, or manage the many moving parts that go into an episode. Her eye for detail and calm presence help transform hours of research and footage into the finished stories you see on Exploring History.
